Artegon Marketplace teased its tenants into staying around until the last two weeks, and its sudden closure announcement has damaged at least one business there by at least $2 million, according to a new lawsuit in Orange County Circuit Court.
The mall on International Drive told most of its tenants last Thursday to pack up and get out by Jan. 26. The mall had been listed for sale for months.
But one of the tenants, the Sky Zone Trampoline Park, says it was shocked by the abrupt nature of the announcement and cancellation of its lease. It filed suit against the mall owner, FB Orlando Acquisition LLC, a subsidiary of New York-based real estate company Lightstone Group.
